1. How much funding does the project require according to your most recent estimate? (i.e. what is the total outstanding cost of all works required to complete the project – including development & construction).
Trust response: Information not held; the business case development has not reached a stage to identify a preferred option to which an estimate could be obtained and approved by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC).
2. What stage are your plans currently at for the project? (i.e. what stage of development or awaiting approval or construction etc.)
Trust response: Development of the initial required business case(s), including a Strategic Outline Case.
3. What is your expected completion date for the project? (We would like to establish whether it is on track to be delivered by 2030, and if not when is it expected to be complete.)
Trust response: 2030.
4. How much government funding have you received so far for the project? (Note: this question refers specifically to funding from the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan.)
Trust response: £5 million each seed funding has been allocated to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
5. If you have not yet received government funding / if you are expecting to receive more funding, please specify how much funding you expect to receive and when. (Note: this question refers specifically to funding from the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan.)
Trust response: £10 million seed funding (£5 million for each Trust) was allocated to develop the initial business case(s). Further funding is anticipated to support development of the further / required business cases. We currently hold no recorded information as to how much funding is expected and when.
6. What is the purpose of the government funding that you have received / are expecting to receive, as part of the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan? (i.e. seed funding and development proposals? Construction? Please detail.)
